LITTLE ATHLETES ON SKIS
This program, designed by the head coaches of The Champions Team and infused with the spirit of Gymy Kids, is open to children aged 4.5–12 who are new to skiing, those who have already tried skiing and wish to improve their techniques, and those who already know how to ski and aim to master advanced techniques. Our young athletes have the opportunity to join The Champions Team’s development program by participating in these camps and receiving ski training across four different levels.
1. Level – Little Champions
Suitable for children who have never skied before. Basic stance positions are taught. Upon completing this level, our young athletes will have gained an introduction to skiing, familiarity with equipment and how to care for it, the ability to move comfortably in nature, teamwork skills, the confidence to separate from their families at the entrance to the ski room and proceed to the slope with instructors, and the foundational skills of skiing, including standing on skis, moving while skiing, stopping while skiing, falling and getting up, as well as learning safe methods for boarding the ski lift. moving on skis, stopping while skiing, falling and getting up, and safe and proper boarding techniques for the ski lift.
2. Level – Epic Champions
This course focuses on developing the basic stance position, strengthening control on skis, and improving the ability to move with the team. Upon completing this course, our young athletes will be able to master the snowplow technique and make turns, quickly adapt to the instructor’s instructions, and begin making turns by transitioning from the natural open position to the snowplow position.
3. Level – Legendary Champions
They are confident in their basic stance and natural stance. This course is designed to help them start carving with confidence from a natural stance and begin turning on the edge, which is the first stage of carving, as well as to develop their balance during turns and exercises focused on their center of gravity. In this course, our young athletes perform exercises to actively move their ankles and knees, as well as exercises related to carving. By the end of the program, they will be able to quickly change positions in response to obstacles and begin skiing on challenging slopes.
4. Level – Future Champions
This course focuses on race technique exercises. During the program, baton use, rhythm exercises, and coordination exercises are performed. Upon completing this course, our young athletes will begin to make turns between obstacles, master carving turns, and gain the ability to ski on all slopes.
Young athletes who complete all four levels earn the right to join The Champions Team, a professional ski racing development team.
The group distribution for the courses is determined by the instructors during the first lesson of the camp.
Note: Medals and certificates will be awarded to participants who complete the course.
